Bookmaker top brass are no longer racing fans - but maybe that could change

I'm A Gambler has proved to be another astute investment by former William Hill boss John Brown.

Having won nine races and more than £225,000 in prize-money, the son of No Nay Never subsequently became the third-most expensive lot ever sold at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale when making 850,000gns.

I'm A Gambler is far from being the only good horse to have been owned by the formidable Brown, who rose up the ranks to become chief executive and then chairman of William Hill, with the likes of The Last Lion and Shooting Light winning major prizes for him on the Flat and over jumps respectively.
