Aidan O'Brien criticism is misguided - but there is a major omission to correct

Time is running out for Aidan O'Brien in his quest for a 2021 European Group 1 win with a juvenile colt.

There are just three chances left. And with due respect to the Criterium International, in which Van Gogh gave the stable a fifth win last year, and the Criterium de Saint-Cloud, won four times by O'Brien between 2001 and 2010, neither race carries the same cachet as Saturday's Vertem Futurity at Doncaster.

O'Brien has left five colts in the mile event he has won on nine previous occasions. Luxembourg, a son of his 2011 winner Camelot, carries the burden of expectation.
