Get ahead for Cheltenham tomorrow with three to watch this evening

Wolverhampton stages a seven-race card tonight kicking off at 5.45pm, 15 minutes after the last at Cheltenham. Here are three runners to note

King Kevin

6.15

Could well rack up his fifth win of the winter if he gets the rub of the green in running, unlike last time when Robert Havlin had to sit and suffer at this track when coasting into third behind Blue Rocks. Although he is a son of Holy Roman Emperor, Ed Dunlop's journeyman shapes as if this step up to a mile and a half could bring about some improvement and he was runner-up at the trip at Lingfield previously.

Notably, King Kevin has not won for any other jockey than Havlin, who is back in the plate today with a point to prove. If the three-year-old can win it would put him on the heels of the likes of Spare Parts and Captain Lars in the race to be the winningmost horse of the all-weather season, which comes with a prize of £10,000.

Bowditch

James Doyle is back from Dubai for a spell before the World Cup meeting and is expected to take plenty of stopping on this John Gosden trainee, who carries the colours of Sheik Mohammed's wife Princess Haya.

The three-year-old is expected to do better this year as he's a son of Nathaniel and went into winter quarters on a high on his first all-weather start when landing a maiden over ten furlongs at Lingfield last October.

Bowditch has plenty of experience having had three starts on turf prior to that success and he has been working nicely this spring with the rest of the Gosden team on the Al Bahathri Polytrack in Newmarket.

Surrey Blaze

Joe Tuite's flashy-looker is on a four-timer after coming from well off the pace to cut down previous winner Father Albie at Chelmsford last time.

Up 8lb for that, Surrey Blaze may not have stopped improving and is expected to extend his winning run at a track where he kicked off his successful spree in January.

The three-year-old faces some exposed rivals tonight but one under the radar is the Marco Botti-trained Verstappen, who is making just his second all-weather start and could be well handicapped.
