Berkshire trainer Roger Teal could be set to push new frontiers in the American west after his star juvenile Tip Two Win was entered for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf at Del Mar on November 3.

The Dark Angel colt, the distaff side of whose pedigree contains a good few US performers, finished second under Adam Kirby to the impressive Elarqam in the Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket last month. On his previous start he had won the Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes at the St Leger meeting.

Teal said on Saturday: "We've made an entry and if we get accepted we're going to travel there with him. It was Adam's idea. I was of a mind to put him away after Newmarket, but he ran so well there and Adam suggested we keep him going and put him in the Breeders' Cup.

"He pointed out that he's not over big and he's in such good form that we should give it a try. It'd be a fantastic adventure to go over there."

Teal's most famous previous traveller is probably Steele Tango, who enjoyed a fruitful winter in Dubai in 2011. However, the trainer is not new to racing in the US.

"I've never had runners at the Breeders' Cup but I was involved with Running Stag all those years ago," he said.

Running Stag, trained by Philip Mitchell, ran 13 of his 37 races in the States, winning three Grade 2s. He also finished second in the 1999 Hong Kong Cup.

Teal added: "Stag was mostly the east coast, he ran at Belmont, Saratoga and the like. I've never been to Del Mar or California, so it would be a great trip should Tip Two Win get in. I think he'd be suited by those tight American turf tracks."
