Main challenge for Bowcock could still lie in wait

There were signs that William Hill had turned the corner when they published their results for 2016 last month but new chief executive Philip Bowcock still has a number of challenges ahead of him.

The bookmaker's online arm, which had previously helped them power ahead of their old rivals Ladbrokes, had faltered in recent years.

Turning that round has been, and will continue to be, one of Bowcock's main priorities and the work already done appears to be bearing fruit, with online sportsbook wagering up ten per cent in the year to date.
