Sacre bleu! French star Le Brivido to miss Queen Anne as injury strikes again

Andre Fabre has revealed that Le Brivido will miss Royal Ascot and be on the sidelines for some time after the recurrence of the injury that kept him off the track for the second half of last season.

Last year’s Jersey Stakes hero, who was a general 7-1 second best behind Rhododendron for the Queen Anne Stakes, has run only once since the meeting last year, finishing sixth on his seasonal reappearance in the Abernant Stakes at Newmarket in April.

"The same injury has recurred and he has gone back to the UK to be treated," said Fabre.

The news comes as a blow to Coolmore, who bought a substantial stake in the son of Siyouni from Prince Faisal Bin Khaled this year.

Fabre had more encouraging news of Coolmore’s Wind Chimes, a fast-finishing third to Teppal in the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches at Longchamp.

Drawn in stall 13 of 14 and further inconvenienced when the race was switched to the outer track, Pierre-Charles Boudot was forced to bide his time behind runners before launching Wind Chimes down the centre of the Longchamp straight, going down by a short neck and a head.

The daughter of Mastercraftsman could take on Teppal once again in the Coronation Stakes, a race which could also feature Coeur De Beaute, who split those two fillies at Longchamp.

Musis Amica also came from a long way off the pace in the Pouliches and was only beaten a length and a half back in sixth.

Fabre plans to step her up in trip and is targeting the Prix de Diane Longines on June 17.

"They are both in good shape after the Pouliches," said Fabre. "Musis Amica will go for the Diane and, while there is no firm plan for Wind Chimes, the Coronation Stakes is an option. I was disappointed with the race [at Longchamp] but happy they way they both finished."
