Latrobe records lowest figure over the last 11 years in Irish Derby

Latrobe earned a lower RPR than the previous ten winners of the Irish Derby after digging in for a half-length win over Rostropovich.

It was the closest finish to the race in the last ten years, with six lengths covering the first eight, and the winner earned a correspondingly low RPR of 117.

Racing positions were all-important in the Curragh Classic, with runner-up Rostropovich making most of the running tracked by the winner. Hot-favourite Saxon Warrior (116+) raced just behind them throughout before finishing third.
