The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips for Wednesday afternoon
GOOD THING
An extremely well-bred filly, being by Dubawi out of a 1,000 Guineas-winning mare (although was subsequently disqualified and placed second) Jacqueline Quest, and unsurprisingly fetched a nice sum of £200,000 at Tattersalls last year. Well punted on debut for trainer Charlie Fellowes, who isn't known for first-time-out winners, Onassis travelled smartly throughout the 7f contest at Newbury but seemed to find the good to soft ground on the testing side and flattened out with a furlong to run. The move to the all-weather is interesting and the experience gained on debut should see her feature in the finish here.
EYECATCHER
Spirit Of Wedza (3.30 Catterick)
The form of the Julie Camacho yard is a slight worry, but Spirit Of Wedza seems to have everything else in his favour and can build on his fantastic record at the undulating Catterick. Boasting form figures of U41231 at this venue, Spirit Of Wedza clearly enjoys the downhill nature of the northern circuit and although he remains 4lb above his last winning mark, he has put in some decent performances on his last few starts and he has been placed off marks higher than this in the past.
