Monday

Racing returns to Chester on Monday evening, with in-form sprinter Judicial (6.30) the one to beat in the feature Listed #Chestertogether Queensferry Stakes.

An eight-race jumps card at Ballinrobe, where the unbeaten Malone Road returns, complements Chester’s offering in the evening, while Southwell (jumps) and Leicester (Flat) stage afternoon action in the East Midlands.

Former apprentice Poppy Bridgwater has her first ride as a conditional on Fort Gabriel (4.15) in the 3m novice hurdle at Southwell.

Tuesday

It’s nine-race cards all the way with Haydock and Wolverhampton providing the afternoon entertainment. Ryan Moore is a rare visitor to Dunstall Park but boasts a 31 per cent course strike-rate (5-16) in the past five seasons and has three mounts.

Lingfield and Perth host the evening action and the start times are creeping forward with Lingfield beginning at 3.50 and Perth’s meeting following ten minutes later.

Wednesday

Listed action comes from Gowran Park, where Irish Oaks fourth Laburnum (2.30) could feature in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Hurry Harriet Stakes.

Beverley completes the day’s racing on turf with all-weather meetings staged at Kempton and Wolverhampton.

Thursday

A midweek treat! Ancient Spirit, Up Helly Aa and Verbal Dexterity are among entries for the Group 3 Clipper Logistics Desmond Stakes (3.00) at Leopardstown, while Numen (3.30) and Dawn Patrol are among Ballydoyle entries in the Listed Vinnie Roe Stakes.

There is Listed action at Salisbury too with Queen Power, Gold Wand and Chamade entered in the Upavon Fillies’ Stakes (2.20). Racing also takes place at Hamilton in the afternoon and Bath and Tramore in the evening.

Friday

There are two Group 3 events at the Curragh – the Irish St Leger Trial (2.30), won for the last six years by Aidan O’Brien, and Royal Whip Stakes (3.00) – plus the EBF Highfield Farm Flying Fillies’ Stakes (2.50) at Pontefract.

Chester completes the afternoon trio with Chepstow and Lingfield hosting evening meetings.

Saturday

There are seven races on ITV from Newbury and Newmarket, including the Hungerford Stakes – a possible target for Threat – and Geoffrey Freer Stakes at the Berkshire track.

A grey will win the 3.15 at Newmarket as the annual Grey Horse Handicap returns on the July course.

Doncaster, Tramore, Chepstow and Dundalk are also in action on a bumper day, while the Group 2 Prix Guillaume D’Ornano is the feature at Deauville and entries include Mishriff, Victor Ludorum and Mogul.

Sunday

There are more Deauville delights with Persian King, Circus Maximus, Palace Pier, Kameko and Alpine Star among possible contenders in the Group 1 Prix Jacques le Marois.

It’s another Sunday with free-to-air coverage with ITV4 televising four races from Newbury, including the Listed St Hugh’s Fillies’ Stakes, and three from Ripon, most notably the William Hill Great St Wilfrid Handicap.

There is also a decent summer jumps card at Market Rasen plus meetings in Ireland at Tramore and Cork.
