Khaadem, impressive winner of the Stewards' Cup at Goodwood last time, is the new favourite for Saturday's Betfair Sprint Cup Stakes at Haydock after Advertise and Ten Sovereigns were ruled out of the Group 1.

Advertise, owned by Phoenix Thoroughbreds, was a general 11-4 favourite for the Group 1 but has been withdrawn after returning a bad scope, while Ten Sovereigns will not run due to testing conditions – the ground at Haydock on Friday morning was soft.

"Advertise scoped slightly badly this morning but is perfectly fine other than that," said Phoenix Thoroughbreds' communications manager Jamie Watson.

"If we had five days we'd be ready but obviously the day before there won't be enough time. He's got nothing to prove after winning two Group 1s this season. We'll see how he is, then probably look at the Champion Sprint or the Prix de la Foret as a season finale.

"He's been a flagbearer for us and will have a special place in our history. He's only been outside the top two once when down the field in the Guineas. He's been fantastic and hopefully he'll be a great stallion but, before that, let's see if he can win another one."
