Britain's youngest trainer Chelsea Banham has first winner at Lingfield
Chelsea Banham wasted no time in sending out her first winner as a trainer, with the 20-year-old on target with Voice Of A Leader at Lingfield on Tuesday evening.
Britain's youngest trainer, Banham had her first runner last week when Makambe was fourth at Yarmouth, and she can now boast a 50 per cent strike-rate following Voice Of A Leader's win.
Ridden by her partner Joey Haynes, Voice Of A Leader was scoring for the first time since March 2017 and was formerly trained by Paul Howling.
Banham spent the previous year as assistant to Howling before setting up on her own at Mulligan's Yard in Newmarket, and was delighted to get on the board so quickly.

Reflecting on the victory on Wednesday morning, Banham said: "It's going the right way already, and while we were obviously hopeful, it's a dream start.
"Voice Of A Leader has been in that grade for a little while and everything went right."
Banham has experienced the winning feeling as a jockey having
triumphed in an amateur riders' race at Wolverhampton in 2016 aboard Schottische, but said it was a different experience as a trainer.
She added: "I can't describe it, it was totally different to riding a winner. We're all going out to celebrate tonight. It was a real team effort and a lovely day all round."
There will be two more chances for Banham to add to her tally at Yarmouth on Thursday, and she said of her runners: "We've had Independence Day for a while, he's a bit tricky to work out but would have a chance.
"Cafe Espresso has grown a bit since we've had her and hopefully the race will be run to suit."
