Line Of Duty, winner of last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf and Group 1-placed this season, sadly suffered a fatal injury on Saturday morning.

The Godolphin-owned three-year-old was last seen finishing third at Longchamp at the start of month in the Group 2 Prix Dollar, having filled the same position earlier this season in the Prix du Moulin and Prix Jacques le Marois.

Although winless in 2019, Line Of Duty had performed well at two, with wins at Goodwood and Chantilly to go along with his Breeders' Cup success.

Trainer Charlie Appleby said on the Godolphin website: "Line Of Duty was a brave horse who has travelled the world. As well as his brilliant win at the Breeders’ Cup, he has performed at the highest level throughout his career and will be sorely missed at Moulton Paddocks."

From ten career starts Line Of Duty won three times. The son of Galileo amassed £630,638 in career earnings.
