Epsom one-two Anthony Van Dyck and Madhmoon declared for Irish Derby

Derby winner Anthony Van Dyck will face seven rivals when he bids to add the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby to his CV at the Curragh on Saturday.

Trained by Aidan O'Brien, who has won the Classic 12 times, Anthony Van Dyck is joined by stablemates Broome, who finished half-a-length fourth at Epsom, Il Paradiso, Norway and Sovereign.

Madhmoon, runner-up at Epsom, is also in opposition, as is the Dermot Weld-trained Rakan, who will be ridden by 2016 British champion jockey Jim Crowley.

Guaranteed completes the field for Jim Bolger, who won the 1m4f event with St Jovite in 1992 and Trading Leather six years ago.

Buckhurst and Western Australia were not declared when the field was finalised on Thursday morning.

Anthony Van Dyck was on Thursday the top-priced 5-4 favourite ahead of Madhmoon at 5-2 and 3-1 shot Broome.
