Champion jockey Richard Johnson will return to the saddle at Wincanton on Wednesday aboard Town Parks in the 2m5f handicap hurdle (2.40).

Johnson had taken a short break after a fall from Westend Story at Ludlow last week aggravated an existing shoulder injury. He had initially intended to be off until the weekend but slightly extended that to allow his shoulder to heal fully.

"My shoulder feels much better," Johnson said on Tuesday. "The physio has helped me out a lot, as has getting a bit of rest.

"The most important thing is getting back in good shape. I'm feeling well and looking forward to Cheltenham and all the other big spring meetings."

Johnson already has several mounts booked for the end of the week and may also have an extra marquee ride at Cheltenham in a couple of weeks, with Barry Geraghty's injury making him the likeliest partner for Triumph Hurdle favourite Defi Du Seuil.
