Intilaaq, a disappointing favourite behind Time Test in Sandown’s Brigadier Gerard Stakes on his latest start, is set to clash with Roger Charlton’s star once again in the Group 2 Sky Bet York Stakes on Saturday.

Quoted as 9-2 second favourite behind 8-11 market leader Time Test by the sponsor, Intilaaq, whose improvement last summer saw him land Haydock’s Rose Of Lancaster Stakes in impressive fashion, has reportedly done well for a short break.

Angus Gold, racing manager to the four-year-old’s owner Hamdan Al Maktoum, said: “Roger [Varian] seems happy with him. Things didn’t go right for him at Sandown but he has plenty of ability. And Roger’s horses are running well.”
