Super Suesa slashed for Commonwealth Cup after latest Chantilly success

Suesa is no bigger than 8-1 for the Commonwealth Cup after she took her unbeaten record to four with a bloodless three length success in the Group 3 Prix Texanita at Chantilly on Monday.
The George Strawbridge-owned Night Of Thunder filly was facing much softer ground than when taking the Prix Sigy last month, but neither the going nor the resulting 2lb penalty ever looked like slowing her progress under a motionless Olivier Peslier.
Trainer Francois Rohaut said he would leave no stone unturned in his efforts to overcome Brexit and Covid-19 issues to get Suesa to Ascot next month.
Only last season's Prix Morny heroine, the Wesley Ward-trained Campanelle, heads Suesa in the Commonwealth Cup market, with the widely-available 25-1 vanishing in the aftermath of her latest win. Paddy Power went 8-1 while Ladbrokes cut her from to 6-1 (from 12-1), just a point behind the American speedster.
"When she goes down to the start she looks like she is out for a morning warm-up, nothing stresses her," said Rohaut. "She goes on any ground but I think she's at her best when it's quick. The other day in the Sigy she showed her true worth, whereas today she found it a little tougher."
Rohaut added: "It would be a shame not to go to Ascot. We will do whatever is necessary to get her there."
