Speedy Boarding signs off in style with gutsy victory

As swansongs go, claiming a second consecutive Group 1 in a photo-finish takes some beating, but that was precisely what Speedy Boarding achieved when just denying the gallant Pleascach for James Fanshawe and Freddy Tylicki.

The four-year-old has got better and better through the course of the season, registering a first Group success in the Prix Corrida at Saint-Cloud.

The Pretty Polly Stakes proved a blip when she was last of five behind Minding, but she secured the Prix Romanet at Deauville last month before Sunday's dramatic success, leaving her unbeaten in three French forays.
