Enable team wait on retirement decision from owner Khalid Abdullah after Arc
There was no immediate decision to retire Enable after her failure to enter the record books when she was beaten by Waldgeist in her bid for a third Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, said: "We've always said Prince Khalid will make the decision, but whatever happened it wasn’t going to be in a hurry.
"We'll get her back, Prince Khalid will want to reflect on all the possibilities and give it thought – hopefully we'll come up with a good answer."
Enable still holds Group 1 entries on Qipco British Champions Day in both the Champion Stakes over ten furlongs and Champions Fillies and Mares Stakes over a mile and a half. The Breeders' Cup Turf, which the daughter of Nathaniel won in 2018, has also been discussed.
Reflecting on Enable's career, Grimthorpe added: "How can we complain, she's been the most fantastic filly and Prince Khalid's enjoyed every moment of her. She's been very special to a lot of people and she hasn’t let us down today.
"She's run a super race and just got outstayed on the sticky ground in the end. In the end we have to accept these things in racing, we don't love her any less. The wave of goodwill we received before the race was almost overwhelming."
