'I can't see any negatives at all' - owners and jockeys happy with Ascot changes

Owners and jockeys have given a broad thumbs up to the new-look Royal Ascot race programme and are confident the permanent addition of five handicaps across the week will be a positive move for Britain's most prestigious Flat meeting.

Royal Ascot was expanded last year to adapt to a season severely interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic. The success of that pilot has led to a permanent change and the introduction of seven-race cards on each day.

Among the newly created races from last year that will now become a regular at the meeting is the Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes, a 5f handicap for three-year-olds, won last year by the King Power Racing-owned Art Power.
