Horses to keep an eye on for this evening
A busy evening of racing with five meetings in Britain and Ireland with action over jumps, on the Flat and on the all-weather.
Leopardstown (5.15) hosts the classiest card, but there is also racing from Sligo (5.30), Sandown (5.35), Newcastle (5.50) and Wolverhampton (6.00). Here are some runners worth watching.
Almoreb 8.40 Wolverhampton
Much of the attention in this handicap over 1m½f will be focused on High End, whose pedigree (by Dubawi out of Fillies' Mile winner Crystal Music) implies a much deeper level of ability than a mark of 80.
Pedigree is also part of the case for Almoreb, who won at Sandown last time but has gone up just 2lb. He is by Raven's Pass and comes from a family of strong all-weather performers, including sister Lovely Pass who won the UAE 1,000 Guineas. He has more chance of overturning High End than current odds imply.Dalouga8.45 Sligo
While Tidal's Baby has been grabbing attention for his run of second places, Dalouga is building an impressive record of her own in finding one too good.
She has raced four times, all four in bumpers and on each occasion she has finished second - the latest when even-money favourite at Limerick last month.
Trainer Gordon Elliott has sent her to Sligo in search of victory and has booked Cheltenham Festival-winning rider Lisa O'Neill to ride.Gold Class9.10 Wolverhampton
It is fair to say Olly Murphy has made an impressive start to his training career.
Having only taken out a licence last month, Murphy already has sent out three winners on the Flat and nine over jumps.
Many of these have been horses who have shown moderate or no form for previous connections including Gold Class, who romped to victory at Market Rasen on his first start for Murphy. If he is in similar form on the Flat he could be tough to beat.
