'He just went whoosh!' - Richard Hills blown away by Baaeed on return to riding

Shadwell Estates assistant racing manager Richard Hills had a coveted first sit on their champion Baaeed on the round gallop, where he tracked familiar lead horse Montatham and Alenquer.
The work was a joining-up exercise over seven and a half furlongs, with Baaeed on top. Hills only resumed work-riding five weeks ago in order to one day have a sit on the unbeaten four-year-old, and he was not disappointed.
He said: “I’ve worked for Shadwell for 40 years and came back so I could sit on Baaeed as we’ll never have another one like him. When I moved up to Alenquer in the gallop he just went whoosh! I never even felt him change his lead, it was incredible.”
