Grand National plunge: Paul Nolan upbeat as Discorama odds continue to tumble
Trainer Paul Nolan might be deflated now but punters think he could be delirious on Saturday after Discorama was the subject of a Randox Grand National plunge on Tuesday, with his trainer saying he has an "ideal profile" for the race.
Discorama, who was 40-1 just a few weeks ago, was supported from 18-1 into 12-1 in places on Tuesday morning as the popular County Wexford trainer goes in search of jump racing's biggest prize just five days after Latest Exhibition failed to justify favouritism in the Irish Grand National.
Nolan admitted he was feeling a little downbeat after Latest Exhibition could only finish fourth to 150-1 outsider Freewheelin Dylan at Fairyhouse but has turned his attention to Aintree on Saturday and Discorama, who will be ridden by Bryan Cooper. The eight-year-old has won just once over fences in ten starts but has pedigree in the big spring festivals, having been placed at three Cheltenham Festivals and finished second in a Grade 1 at Punchestown.
