Galileo Gold and Ribchester on course for Deauville showdown
At the end of April they were separated by three and a half lengths. At the end of July it was down to a short head. Now Ribchester's sights are being set firmly on turning the tables with Galileo Gold in tomorrow's Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard Jacques le Marois.
Dual Guineas hero Galileo Gold comfortably defeated Ribchester at Newmarket, but it was a different story in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood, when both had to give way to neck winner The Gurkha, and Deauville could be the scene for a battle royal tomorrow.
A field of 11 has been declared for the Group 1 and much focus will centre on the two three-year-olds, but the race runs a lot deeper than that.
