Franny Norton created his own slice of personal history at Kempton on Thursday evening when reaching a century of winners in a calendar year for the first time.

It is 30 years since Norton, 48, first rode under rules, but he is showing no signs of slowing down and achieved the milestone in last-gasp fashion when getting the Michael Wigham-trained Deeds Not Words up on the line by a nose in a 6f handicap.

"It's been a long time coming, 30 years and getting better," Norton said on Friday. "It's not something I've aimed for but I had a good spell in the summer which set me up.
