Former racehorse and eventer Summon Up Theblood to star at ROR Aintree event

The second staging of the popular Retraining Of Racehorses National Championship Show takes place at the Aintree Equestrian Centre this week, where the judges will include trainer Mark Johnston and leading racing novelist Jilly Cooper.
Expanded to four days after last year’s successful event, the show starts on Thursday and will conclude with a gala night on Sunday that will feature Brazilian event rider Carlos Parro and ex-racehorse Summon Up Theblood, fresh from their appearance at the Rio Olympics.
Cooper will be among those judging the 195 entries, and her presence coincides with the release of her latest novel, Mount! Cooper will judge the Glamour Stakes class on Sunday evening before joining Mark and Deirdre Johnston in selecting the supreme champion.
