Gosden eyes fifth success with Chester winner

If the betting is accurate only one trainer can stop Aidan O'Brien winning a fifth Ladbrokes St Leger and that is the four-time winner of the Classic, John Gosden.

Gosden this week lauded the operation behind establishing O'Brien's Ballydoyle stable as the dominant force in middle distance racing and did so without highlighting his own successes in the same sphere with Masked Marvel, Arctic Cosmos, Lucarno and Shantou.

With latest Doncaster candidate Muntahaa, Gosden has shunned the trials and prepared the colt via a Listed handicap at Chester which he won by a head. On his only start at Group level he finished third behind Across The Stars in the King Edward VII Stakes.
