NEVER has Coolmore's British representative Kevin Buckley earned his salary more than in the frenzied minutes following a Ladbrokes St Leger that ended with 4-6 favourite Idaho galloping loose and rider Seamie Heffernan ferried to hospital with a face stained red.

Aside from being bloodied, Heffernan seemed fine.

So too was Idaho, but what drama he caused when, just inside the four-furlong pole, he stumbled on being switched right-handed. As he did so, and to loud gasps from the Doncaster grandstands, Heffernan was sent flying over his mount's shoulder.
