You can imagine the conversation around the breakfast table at Ger Lyons' home on Sunday morning. "Medicine Jack should win, Psychedelic Funk could win, either Savannah Storm or Elusive Heights might win, Ardhoomey can't win".

Of the quintet who represented the trainer on the concluding day of Irish Champions Weekend, Ardhoomey appeared the weakest link, and the trainer himself admitted as much after the Group 2 Flying Five Stakes.

He said: "We walked the course, there was a shocking headwind coming into their faces and I didn't really give him any sort of squeak on the ground."
