Stamina not assured for Thyme Hill in Albert Bartlett

The festival novice hurdles come under the microscope

The Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle is not one for favourites, as the last six winners have gone in at odds between 11-1 and 50-1. The flaw in the market is that it usually favours classy, Graded horses who end up getting found out by proven stayers.

Thyme Hill (152) tops the RPRs of likely runners, but there is a question over whether he will see out three miles as well as some of his rivals, as he was a smart bumper horse over two miles and is yet to run beyond 2m5f.

Top 3m form is thin on the ground this year, but Latest Exhibition (150) was doing his best work in the closing stages when winning a Grade 1 at Leopardstown over 2m6f last time and he could have the required stamina.
