Amateur rider Patrick Mullins will have a shot at Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup glory on Friday after it was revealed he will partner Kemboy for his father Willie Mullins.

One of 12 declarations for the Cheltenham Festival highlight, Kemboy is among three chances for Willie Mullins, headed by the defending champion AlBoum Photo.

Patrick Mullins: Cheltenham Gold Cup record (2011-2019)

2019 Fell – Invitation Only
2018 Fifth – Djakadam
2016 Eighth – On His Own
2015 Fifth –On His Own

A largely dry forecast could aid Kemboy's chances according to Patrick Mullins, who said: "It's obviously great to be riding in the Gold Cup again but I do think the ground needs to dry out for Kemboy to be at his best. He improved from his first run to second and I think he'll improve again, which puts him right there in the picture."

Santini, Lostintranslation and Delta Work are all set to try to dethrone Al Boum Photo, with Presenting Percy and Clan Des Obeaux also in the mix.

A field of 13 has been declared for the JCB Triumph Hurdle, with Solo, Goshen and Allmankind set to clash. Thyme Hill also puts his unbeaten record over hurdles on the line in the Albert Bartlett, with Latest Exhibition, Harry Senior and Monkfish among 18 rivals.
