The 2018 Cheltenham Festival certainly promised plenty, and boy did it deliver. The four days were packed with drama, storylines and high emotion, with performances of individual brilliance – both human and equine – lighting up the Cotswolds time and again.

Here, six Racing Post writers nominate their favourite moments from the four days, select a horse to follow and offer some suggestions on how to make an already stunning week even better.


Best moment

Graham Dench
Altior turning likely defeat into almost certain victory in a matter of strides when pulled wide to challenge approaching the second-last in the Queen Mother Champion Chase. He has deceived us before with his style of running, but while he does not always travel with quite the majesty of Sprinter Sacre, he is plainly another exceptional two-miler and is now snapping at his former stablemate's heels in terms of ratings.
