Arrogate almost certain to finish year as world champion

Arrogate and California Chrome cemented their positions as the best in the world by pulling well clear of their rivals in an epic duel for the Breeders' Cup Classic.

The younger, fresher Arrogate overhauled former world leader California Chrome to score by half a length in one of the great renewals of America's championship race.

The first seven were all Grade 1 winners, but in pulling ten and three-quarter lengths clear of the third the big two showed they are in a different league. From a handicapping point of view their margin of superiority came out at over 20lb.
