Open your eyes to On The Blind Side - Pietro Innocenzi gives his selections

There’s always a danger when compiling just one list in going for the obvious - even if you win the thing you could end up sharing the prize with half the country. For that reason, one or two dark horses are a must. So, in no particular order of obviousness:
Defi Du Seuil has everything you want in a selection. He’s tough, prolific and versatile (both in terms of trip and ground). He also looked better than ever on his reappearance.
Chacun Pour Soi, who denied Defi Du Seuil a Grade 1 hat-trick at Punchestown, has to go in. He’s potentially the next superstar on the block.
Lostintranslation produced a massive performance in the Betfair Chase, handing Bristol De Mai his first defeat at Haydock. He’s Gold Cup material.
Fakir D’Oudairies proved a tad frustrating over hurdles but jumped superbly switched to fences on his reappearance. He’s an exciting prospect in the two-mile novice division, while City Island, who beat the much-vaunted Champ in last season’s Ballymore, will do as a staying option.
Last year’s Champion Bumper winner Envoi Allen didn’t come off the bridle to beat a subsequent winner on his hurdles debut. Thyme Hill, who was third in the Bumper, has looked really smart in two hurdles starts, clearly appreciating the step up in trip.
The unexposed Fusil Raffles wouldn’t have to improve much to be in the mix in what doesn’t look a particularly strong two-mile hurdle division, while If The Cap Fits did nothing but stay when winning at Ascot recently. There’s more to come from him back over three miles.
The lightly raced On The Blind Side will do as a staying handicap chaser following a highly satisfactory reappearance at Ascot.
