As the clock ticks down to 2022 and with so much uncertainty circulating around the spring point-to-point campaign, even a crystal ball would struggle to predict the scene which will play out when the new year rolls around.

In order to look at what could be just around the corner for the sport, we must first consider what is currently known.

At present, all point-to-points in Northern Ireland are fully covered owing to their UK status, while fixtures covered by the Cork and Waterford Point-to-Point Association are also believed to have the green light until the end of the season courtesy of their umbrella point-to-point policy.
