In the summer of 1992, a musician walked into a London betting shop and his life took a new turn.

It had just turned 11am and the William Hill shop in Shepherd's Bush lured in percussionist Bob Nastanovich, who was fresh off the plane for his band Pavement's first international tour.

The Californian indie rock group was three years old and riding high after the release of their debut studio album Slanted and Enchanted, which received stellar reviews.
