The Gambling Commission has linked up with Twitter to create guidance to help users who want to see less betting-related content on the social media platform.

The microblogging site is the first social media firm to link up with the betting regulator, which hopes to work to produce guidelines with similar companies during the year.

Twitter users will be told how to use the site's tools to reduce the likelihood of them seeing posts related to gambling, including how to turn off notifications from certain accounts, muting words, phrases and conversations with links to betting, and managing interests within a profile.
