Keep calm and carry on was the overwhelming theme on Warren Hill in Newmarket on Monday, with trainers busy getting their strings ready for the start of the Flat season in spite of the uncertainty generated by the coronavirus pandemic.

The 2020 turf season is due to begin with the Unibet Lincoln fixture at Doncaster next Saturday, a meeting that if it does take place, will be behind closed doors following the BHA's announcement on Monday.

Although it is early days and there are few confirmed cases in Suffolk, trainers are happy to carry on as if the season will take place as scheduled.
