Last chance to vote for the Cartier Horse of the Year for 2023
Racing Post readers have been invited to help decide who will be crowned the Cartier Horse Of The Year for the 2023 Flat season with voting closing at noon today.
The Cartier awards, which select the year's leading European horses, will be determined by a combined scoring system made up of public votes, a panel of racing journalists and handicappers and points achieved in Pattern races throughout the season.
Votes from the public will count for 35 per cent of the final result across eight categories, which include awards for the outstanding two-year-olds, three-year-olds, sprinters and stayers of 2023.
The accolades are headed by the Horse of the Year division, which has been won by the likes of Sea The Stars, Frankel and Enable. Among this year's contenders is Paddington, who heads the points despite his defeat on Champions Day at Ascot, while star French colt Ace Impact is in the running and heads the three-year-old colt category following his Arc triumph.
Auguste Rodin, Big Rock, Tahiyra and Blue Rose Cen also represent the Classic generation in the Horse of the Year contest against older rivals Hukum and Mostahdaf, with last year's winning three-year-old filly Inspiral also on the shortlist following her Sun Chariot success this month.
The sprinting division has been wide open this year and the end-of-year accolade is all to play for, with Group 1 winners Shaquille, Art Power and Live In The Dream among the finalists, while Trueshan and rising star Continuous are among those vying for the stayers' title.
You can cast your vote via www.cartierracingawards.co.uk, with those who enter also placed into a draw for a prize from Cartier.
The winners of the 33rd Cartier awards will be announced at a ceremony in the Dorchester Hotel on November 9.
