Having won the Arkle the previous year, Moscow Flyer lined up as the 7-4 favourite to beat seasoned veterans including Florida Pearl, Edredon Bleu and Flagship Uberalles.
The old brigade never featured and the only danger appeared to be 33-1 chance Latalomne, who fell when leading at the second-last leaving Moscow Flyer to bound clear to record a seven-length success. Coming just 40 minutes after Azertyuiop’s sparkling Arkle win, it whetted the appetite for the pair’s clash in the same year’s Tingle Creek Chase.
