Boost for Britain as Derby one of three races approved for Japanese simulcast

British racing has received a huge vote of confidence with the news that three of the most important races of the domestic Flat season have been added to the list of events eligible for simulcast in Japan.

The Investec Derby, the Coral-Eclipse and the Qipco Champion Stakes have all made their first appearance among 30 events worldwide which, should they attract a Japanese runner of sufficient quality, can be shown live in Japan and be offered as a betting opportunity in the racing-mad nation.

The Prix du Moulin de Longchamp has also been added for 2020, while the Melbourne Cup and Caulfield Cup are among the five races to drop off the list from 2019.
