Bell delighted with Guineas favourite Pretty Pollyanna ahead of Moyglare bid

Michael Bell has expressed himself "excited and delighted" with the latest workout of his 1,000 Guineas favourite Pretty Pollyanna in Newmarket this week with all roads leading to the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday week.

Generally an 8-1 chance for the Newmarket Classic, the daughter of Oasis Dream was ridden by her regular partner Silvestre de Sousa in a seven-furlong exercise and was not stopping at the finish, suggesting she will handle stepping up to that trip in Ireland.

Pretty Pollyanna, who was watched by her part-owners Bill and Tim Gredley, has registered back-to-back victories over six furlongs in the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket before getting the better of the colts in the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville.

Adopting her customary front-running tactics in the Morny, Pretty Pollyanna looked in trouble at the furlong pole when tackled by Queen Mary winner Signora Cabello but she battled back to score by three-quarters of a length with four lengths back to the third.

Bell said: "Silvestre was very happy with Pretty Pollyanna and felt she'd progressed since Deauville. The way she went on the peat moss gallop suggests she'll get the extra furlong and her dam's side is laden with stamina. All being well, it's full steam ahead for the Moyglare providing the ground is not soft over there. Beyond that, she's entered in the Group 1 Cheveley Park and the Group 1 Fillies' Mile at Newmarket."

The last winner of the Moyglare Stud Stakes to follow up in the 1,000 Guineas was Minding two years ago.
