The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Monday
BANKER
Dusty(2.00 Brighton)
Mick Channon's three-year-old filly has been campaigned over a variety of trips on different ground, but 6f on good to firm looks absolutely perfect for her and she should follow up her course victory in the opener on Monday. Having placed on her previous two starts, Dusty capitalised on her falling handicap mark to score impressively from the back of the pack, despite finishing on the rail (often a disadvantage with the camber favouring those in the centre of the track). They went a quick pace early on that day which helped, and the race is likely to be run to suit again with plenty of prominent racers in opposition. Favourite Arcanista rates a danger, but she may struggle under a penalty.
GOOD THING
Tricorn (7.15 Chelmsford)
The return to the all-weather is key. A four-year-old son of Helmet, Tricorn looked to be destined for Group races when recording form figures of 211123 on his first six starts last season, with the third-placed effort coming in the 29-runner Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot. He was subsequently fancied for the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes at Newmarket but disappointed when finishing seventh of eight behind Beat The Bank. He has struggled this season after undergoing a gelding operation, but those three runs have come in competitive Class 2 handicaps, and although he remains in that company here, it's an easier race than he's been running in and is now back on his favoured surface. Tricorn's won two of his four starts on the all-weather (second on his other two runs) and should go extremely close off his mark of 101.
