The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with four to follow on Derby day

BIG-RACE BANKER

Sir Dragonet(4.30 Epsom)

Aidan O'Brien fields more than half the runners in the 2019 Investec Derby and if there is one superstar in this line-up, it has to be Sir Dragonet. Having made his debut in a Tipperary maiden at the backend of April (won easily by three lengths), Sir Dragonet showed serious talented when bounding clear of six rivals in the Chester Vase when last seen. That was the most impressive performance I've seen in that particular Derby trial and there has to be further improvement to come given he's had just two starts. You won't find a horse that is bred to win a Derby more than Sir Dragonet, who is by 2012 winner of this race Camelot and has plenty of Saddler's Wells (sire of High Chaparral, Montjeu and Galileo among others) in his bloodline. Although he has never run on quick ground, his pedigree suggests he will probably improve for it.

GOOD THING

Bye Bye Hong Kong(3.10 Epsom)

Despite being forecast to go off at around 11-4, I fully expect this three-year-old son of Street Sense to start as favourite for the Diomed Stakes, and he should have it all his own way out in front under Silvestre de Sousa. There isn't much pace on and Bye Bye Hong Kong, who has done nothing but improve this season and boasts a perfect mentality, can get an easy lead and make the most of his hefty 12lb weight-for-age allowance.

EYECATCHER

The Trader (2.00 Epsom)

Rated 91 as a two-year-old despite running over inadequate trips, The Trader has progressed this year by recording form figures of 25 in good races over 1m2f. He travelled all over the field on his return at Chelmsford only to run around in front and get passed by Fox Premier, who has won since under a penalty. Raised 3lb for that, The Trader ran in the hottest three-year-old handicap of the season, the London Gold Cup, and despite being squeezed out at the start and being forced to take his medicine out the back, he made an eyecatching move to challenge two furlongs out. He paid for that big effort late on but still finished a creditable fifth and looks handicapped to go close here.

DARK HORSE

Soto Sizzler (5.15 Epsom)

Another well-handicapped young stayer, Soto Sizzler, who could be underestimated in the market, loves downhill tracks with both his victories coming here and at Goodwood. His victory at Goodwood last year came at the expense of Corgi and Making Miracles, both of whom have progressed up the ranks with the latter landing the Chester Cup on his last outing, while he sauntered to victory over course and distance last time out. Up just 5lb for that, he can follow up in fine style.
