Lingfield Placepot picks: Tom Segal has four bankers on a valuable jumps card

The excellent prize-money has attracted some high-quality horses to Lingfield for the Winter Million and I doubt there are many more popular horses in training than Dashel Drasher, who is the one to beat reverting to fences in the Fleur De Lys Chase (3.00).

Yes, he has a penalty to overcome but his heart on sleeve style takes most horses out of their comfort zone and the track and ground should suit him perfectly.

The Weatherbys Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide Hurdle (2.25) could see Goshen return to form on ground he will relish but going left-handed seems an issue for him these days and he will struggle to give 6lb to a rejuvenated Darver Star.

Don't forget Darver Star was third in a Champion Hurdle and he will relish the ground and test of stamina.

The other horses to bank on are Our Jester in the opening bumper (12.50) and War Lord in the Cazoo Novice's Chase. The latter split Edwardstone and Third Time Lucki in a Grade 1 last time.

The Winter Million Novices' Hurdle (1.20) could be straightforward because Ballygrifincottage ran really well on his debut for the Skeltons in a Graded race. However throw in Danilo D'Airy as well because he stays really well, comes into the race in tremendous form and will love the heavy ground.

That only leaves the racehorselotto.com Surrey National Handicap Chase (3.35) but that is clearly the most difficult Placepot race on the card.

Go Whatever is the obvious one if the visor works as well for the second time but he is worse off at the weights with Pemberley and conditions should suit the well-handicapped Just Your Type.
