Catterick Placepot picks: Tom Collins takes you through his afternoon perm

The opening 0-65 handicap (1.45) is a difficult puzzle for Placepot players as most of the field have produced their best efforts on synthetic surfaces.

That said, it is hard to leave out Ginato, who showed enough in Ireland for former trainer Kevin Prendergast to win this. A chance is also taken on Midnight Poppy, who is open to more improvement now back on grass after two mediocre all-weather runs.

Trainer Roger Varian rarely sends a runner to Catterick (2-14), so the 84-rated Aquaman has to be included in the following novice event (2.20). Albegone is also selected after a promising debut effort.

Spring Mile sixth Queen's Sargent looks banker material in the 7f handicap (2.50), a race which will be run at a good gallop with three front-runners in the field.

Recent Newcastle winner Medicine Jack and course-and-distance specialist Excessable have their boxes ticked in leg four (3.25).

There's no need to overthink the 1m4f handicap (4.00). Wise Eagle seeks a hat-trick and remains well treated off a mark of 75. Bank on him.

The form of Grant Tuer's string makes it hard to leave out the well-drawn Mokaman in the closing sprint handicap (4.30). Improving three-year-old Bert Kibbler is also chosen on the switch to turf.
