Ascot Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his Friday perm
The 6f novice (2.00) is the opening race in the Placepot at Ascot and it looks a good race for a banker. Hello Deira has the strongest form after two seconds at Salisbury and should place.
It’s also worth going for a banker in the following 7f maiden (2.35). City Of Kings was a big eyecatcher when fifth on his debut at Sandown and should go well if improving on that effort.
The mile fillies’ novice (3.10) is a difficult race. It might be worth sticking with those who have experience in the shape of Dowally and Alseyoob, who set the standard on Racing Post Ratings.
Just six are declared in the next (3.45) so only two places will be on offer. Al Marmar looks sure to go well for Ryan Moore and the consistent Carolus Magnus is next best.
Moore could be on the winner of the following mile handicap (4.20) too. He rides Rebel Territory, who has improved this summer and rates a banker provided all eight line up.
The 6f fillies’ handicap (4.55) is the last leg and Sound Of Iona might be suited by this stiff 6f. She looked stretched by 7f at York last time and is a confident selection alongside Torvi.
