Titans should be too strong for bungling Bills

The Titans have turned heads around the league with back-to-back wins over Super Bowl champions Philadelphia and last season's AFC runners-up Jacksonville and they shouldn't stumble as they drop in class to take on Buffalo.

Tennessee are an improving outfit under new head coach Mike Vrabel and have got off to a 3-1 start despite being hit by a number of early injuries.

Backing road teams as favourites is best approached with caution, but it's less concerning when the home team are as poor as Buffalo.

The Bills have scored only 50 points in four games and were shut out in their 22-0 defeat at Green Bay last week.

They were walloped 47-3 at Baltimore in Week One and were 28-6 down at half-time against the Chargers when cornerback Vontae Davis decided to retire on the spot.

Buffalo's 27-6 win in Minnesota has a strong chance of remaining the most mystifying result of the season for the rest of the campaign, but it looks to have been a fluke.

Rookie quarterback Josh Allen has claimed the starting job from Nathan Peterman but he will need his best scrambling skills against a strong Titans pass rush.

Points look guaranteed when Atlanta visit Pittsburgh and it's worth backing the Falcons to score enough of them to at least cover the handicap against the struggling Steelers.

A traditional powerhouse outfit, Pittsburgh looked stunned as the stands emptied towards the end of their 26-14 home defeat by AFC North rivals Baltimore last Sunday night.

Mike Tomlin's side went close to throwing away a 20-point lead at Tampa Bay the week before, hanging on to win 30-27, and had also given up a 14-point lead in the final quarter of their opening tie against the Browns.

Atlanta's season has been punctuated by a succession of injuries but they have posted scores of 31, 37 and 36 points against three solid sides in Carolina, New Orleans and Cincinnati in their last three games.

Quarterback Matt Ryan and wide receivers Julio Jones, Mohamed Sanu and Calvin Ridley should be looking forward to their contest with the susceptible Steelers secondary.

Best points bet
Under 46.5 points in Baltimore at Cleveland

Cleveland's game against Oakland last week featured 87 points but their AFC North derby with Baltimore should produce a more traditional scoreline.

The Browns had previously conceded a more moderate 21 points to two of the leagues most dangerous offences against New Orleans and Pittsburgh (after overtime), and they yielded only 17 to the Jets.

The Ravens look a top-tier team this season and only Cincinnati, who beat them 34-23, have scored more than 14 against them this season.

Cleveland's defence took a hit with the injury sustained by cornerback Terrance Mitchell last week but their defensive line, featuring 2017 top draft pick Myles Garrett and emerging defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi, are a strong unit.

Best player bet
R Freeman to score a touchdown

Denver have revitalised their running game with the rookie partnership of third-round pick Royce Freeman and undrafted free agent Phillip Lindsay and Freeman is fancied to score a touchdown for the fourth game in succession against the New York Jets.

The Broncos put up a decent show in their 27-23 AFC West defeat against Kansas City and while their defence could not do enough against the explosive Chiefs offence, their offence put on a decent display, especially with their ground game.

Freeman managed 67 yards from just eight carries and Denver head coach Vance Joseph has vowed to increase his involvement from this week on.
