Laura Siegemund used her vast experience to pull off an amazing win over qualifier Marta Kostyuk in the Luxembourg Open last 16, but the German may not have the weapons to stop Elena Rybakina in their quarter-final clash.

Russian Rybakina is enjoying an excellent campaign which has seen her earn serious respect from the oddsmakers.

Kostyuk did not have the strength of temperament to defeat Siegemund, who took a series of injury breaks when trailing the Ukrainian teenager by a set and 5-2 down in set two.

Siegemund's tactics - she ended up winning 4-6 7-5 6-2 - didn't agree with everyone at the Kockelscheuer Stadium and many would view it as karma if she was get her comeuppance against the flying Rybakina.

The 20-year-old favourite, champion in Bucharest in July, can be backed to triumph but it may also be worth chancing her to successfully concede a start of 2.5 games on the handicap.
