Marketa Vondrousova will attempt to blow away her latest opponent on clay in the Istanbul Cup, but Svetlana Kuznetsova could make the Czech toil if the Russian is in the mood for a battle.

Vondrousova made light work of the useful Ajla Tomljanovic in a 6-3 6-3 first-round triumph. That result is difficult to fault, but there was also a lot to like about Kuznetsova’s 6-3 7-6 victory over Cagla Buyukakcay a day earlier.

Sveta gets a pull of 4.5 games on one of Betfair and Paddy Power’s alternative handi­caps – the principal line is 3.5 – and a price of 8-13 is difficult to quibble with considering Vondrousova may find this a tougher assignment.

In Stuttgart, Laura Siegemund has been well backed to defeat Anastasija Sevastova.
