US Open champion Bianca Andreescu has enjoyed a sublime 2019 season and her winning run is unlikely to come to an end when she takes on Jennifer Brady for a place in the quarter-finals of the WTA China Open (12.30pm start).

Andreescu, who is having her first outing since beating Serena Williams in the New York final last month, has not lost a completed match since a semi-final defeat against Sofia Kenin in the Mexican Open in March.

The power-packed Canadian has since won titles in Indian Wells and Toronto as well as Flushing Meadows and, excluding an injury-related retirement against Anett Kontaveit in Miami, she boasts a remarkable 26-0 record since her Acapulco loss.

The 19-year-old has earned a reputation as a three-set battler but she appears to be improving when it comes to shortening matches, winning five of her seven US Open tussles in straight sets and beating Elise Mertens 2-0 in Beijing on Wednesday.

Brady is playing well but Andreescu is currently the most consistent women's player and should ease through in the Chinese capital.
